The actress says everything is simpler now.

Not long ago, women faced insurmountable challenges in the entertainment industry. As Sherri Shepherd put it, many stereotypes hindered her career advance. Luckily,  everything is in the past.

During E! News Daily Pop talk Shepherd shared: to become an actress and comedian — she had to rely on own experience.

There weren’t any women of color who appeared on big screens back in the days. According to the actress, this is why many females struggled to find themselves. They didn’t have any role models to look up to.

“When we grew up, there were very few women who looked like us who led a talk show, and so I think it's really, really important for young girls of color to look up and see somebody who looks like them so they can close their eyes and go.”
