The world didn’t stop, though.

British football fans prefer their favorite game over royals. Even the Queen’s death doesn’t hinder them from making controversial statements.

After Her Majesty’s passing, England went into ten days of mourning, meaning all the entertaining activities got canceled.

On his official Twitter page, the director of Spotlight Sports Group, Bruce Millington, discussed the strict limitations, suggesting “not rush to cancel all the things we enjoy like sport and concerts… Far better to cancel the stuff we don’t enjoy like school and the dentist.” His post triggered the sports lovers to express their discontent and anger:

“How about you morn for 10 days and the people that want to watch sport and pay respects with a minutes silence can do that?”

“Canceling events for days and weeks seems excessive.”

“And there won't be any room in the football schedule for postponements thanks to them sticking a world cup in the middle of the season.”
