Prince Charles Will Take Over the Throne on September 10
Life goes on.
The British hadn’t even gotten over the loss of their beloved Queen when the unpleasant news hit them. The throne that Elizabeth II occupied for 70 years will not remain empty for a long time.
On Saturday, September 10, a new ruler will take over the reins of Britain. Prince Charles, Elizabeth II’s son, will become the monarch’s successor. The heir has already chosen his title. According to the Times, he will be known as Charles III.
The inauguration ceremony will be held at St. James’s Palace in London. As existing Privy Council members, Camilla, Charles’s wife, and the Dukes of Cornwall and Cambridge will be attending.
Once the procedure starts, the Lord President will declare the Queen dead and ask the secretary of the Council to read the Proclamation of Succession.
