In terms of popularity, the debut of the new "House of the Dragon” series broke all previous records and created quite a stir around the globe. It even outperformed its predecessor, "Game of Thrones“” , on its first day.
The data on the number of pilot episode viewers was released by Warner Bros. Discovery. According to Variety, the long-awaited novelty amassed 9.99 million viewers on August 21, which is the new highest score for HBO. The company spent $100 million on advertising its show.
For comparison, in 2011, the first series of "Game of Thrones" was seen by only 4.2 million viewers.
