Plagiarism accusation: Hailey Bieber sued because of her cosmetics brand
Justin Bieber's wife found herself in a rather unpleasant situation.
Despite her great desire, Hailey Bieber cannot use her middle name as the face of the brand because the law is not on her side. That is the reason she appeared in another big trouble.
As Page Six reports, the fact is that the name of the celebrity beauty brand Rhode, which is a reference to the middle name of the model Hayley Rhode, is not uncommon for the fashion industry. The eight-year-old fashion brand of the same name sues the celebrity for plagiarism.
In a filing with the New York Post, Rhode's legal team alleges that Bieber tried to acquire the trademark from the design duo back in 2018, but they refused.
Apparently, Bieber decided to take the risk anyway and launched her own Rhode. The entrepreneurs of the fashion brand had their word.
“It’s an unfortunate circumstance. We, of course, understand that Hailey wants to use her middle name for her brand, but the law on this is clear: you can’t create this kind of brand confusion just because you want to use your name."
