Dove Cameron is sick of conspiracy theories about the hidden meaning of her songs. The actress-singer made it clear to fans that she doesn’t always mean what the others hear in her songs.
The former Disney actress stated she does not want people to think that her sexual preferences are expressed in her lyrics. Dove, in her interview with Los Angeles Times, sent a message to her listeners not to search for hidden context.
The fact that she is pansexual doesn’t mean that all her works are dedicated to that topic.
"I think there’s gonna be a lot of room in my artistry to talk about things other than that I love women. And “I eat boys like you for breakfast” does not translate into ‘I hate men and I only date women.’ It means this one guy is a d**k and I can take him in a fight. I’m a pansexual artist, so I’m attracted to and in love with who I’m attracted to and in love with."
