Dove Cameron had disagreements with her label regarding creative works. The singer fiercely defended her point of view, which was closer to her true nature.
Cameron was sure of the name of the song "Boyfriend", but she was asked to change it into "Gentleman". The producers and the team thought: there were too many songs with the same title released over the last couple of years. The artist mentioned in her interview with Los Angeles Times that she couldn’t allow herself to do it, as the first title perfectly described her inner feelings.
