Jolie’s inner peacekeeper and activist has awakened. She published an extensive article in TIME, telling the horrors and injustices the Afghan women faced after the Taliban’s take over. The appointed UNHCR Special Envoy, couldn’t keep quiet when women’s rights got curtailed. Angelina emphasizes:
“14 million Afghan women and girls lost their right to go to high school or university, their right to work, and their freedom of movement. … The daughters of Afghanistan are extraordinary for their strength, resilience, and resourcefulness”.
